Raphael Dutra leads the firm’s Privacy, Data Protection and Information Security practice and has extensive experience advising Brazilian and international companies of all sizes on matters involving emerging regulations and technology.

Raphael Dutra is among the professionals recognized by LACCA – Latin American Corporate Counsel Association in the Data, Technology and Privacy Law category.

He holds a law degree from Universidade Candido Mendes and a postgraduate degree in Digital Law and Compliance from Instituto Damásio de Direito – IBMEC/SP. He also specializes in Technology Management and Information Security through IDESP/DARYUS and in Privacy and Personal Data Protection through Data Privacy Brasil, and has completed a course in Startup and Entrepreneurship Law at Fundação Getulio Vargas/RJ.

Raphael has extensive experience in structuring and managing Data Protection Officer activities, leading teams and handling matters involving corporate technology risks. He has advised highly complex public and private entities in Brazil and abroad, across a wide range of industries and company sizes. Prior to founding PDK, he was a Partner in the Privacy and Personal Data Protection practice at ECIJA, a Spanish law firm and one of the world’s leading firms in TMT.

He is certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and previously served as a member of the Information Technology, Technology Law and Innovation Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association, Rio de Janeiro Chapter. He is currently a member of the Corporate Investigations Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association, having also served on its Information Technology, Technology Law and Innovation Commission.
